The origins of Oshiai

It was from Jogi Oshiai's professional journey that Oshiai Consultoria e Assessoria Ltda. was founded in 2009.

The company was created with a clear purpose: to help businesses turn knowledge, strategy and opportunities into concrete business.

Its work was built on Jogi's accumulated experience in international trade, market access, institutional relations, negotiations, project development and the ability to connect companies, governments and different professional environments.

Oshiai worked from a simple but demanding premise: understand where the opportunity lies, identify the path to reach it and help turn that path into results.

Throughout its trajectory, the company supported initiatives focused on business expansion, building connections, developing projects and bringing companies and markets closer together.

Every company has different competencies, limitations, resources and ambitions. Every market has its own dynamics. Every opportunity requires a specific strategy.

That is why Oshiai never believed in generic solutions to complex problems.

Its work has always been about connecting company, market, opportunity and execution.

A new chapter

The world in which Oshiai was born has changed profoundly.

International trade has become more complex and is now influenced by factors that go far beyond the relationship between buyer and seller.

Geopolitics, regulatory change, food security, traceability, environmental requirements, sanitary barriers, logistical instability and new public policies have all become part of business decisions.

In agribusiness, this transformation is even more evident.

Producing well remains essential, but it is no longer enough.

It is necessary to understand how rules are formulated, which requirements may affect the business, what evidence must be demonstrated and which institutional relationships can contribute to a legitimate and technically consistent response.

It is in this context that, in 2026, Maria Eduarda Machado Blaiklock joins this journey.

Maria Eduarda's arrival represents the convergence of two experiences built in different but complementary fields.

Jogi brings more than three decades of work in international trade, government relations, institutional relations, negotiations and engagement in the European environment, based in Brussels.

Maria Eduarda brings more than two decades of experience as a veterinarian at Brazil's Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock, working at the interface between animal health, international trade, market access, systems equivalence and sanitary and phytosanitary barriers.

Between 2018 and 2022, she served as Agricultural Attaché at the Brazilian Embassy in Bangkok, working directly on the opening and maintenance of markets for animal-origin products in Southeast Asia.

Her experience was built across Brasília, public bodies, the productive sector, foreign sanitary authorities and international negotiations.

BEST AgriTrade is therefore born in 2026, from the union of these two competencies.

This is not to say that Oshiai and BEST are the same thing.

Oshiai was the company Jogi built throughout his professional journey.

BEST is a new chapter, founded by Maria Eduarda Machado Blaiklock and Jogi Oshiai, with a proposal aimed at the contemporary challenges of agribusiness and international trade.

From Oshiai to BEST AgriTrade

BEST preserves the experience, principles and articulation capacity developed throughout Oshiai's journey, while expanding that repertoire with Maria Eduarda's technical-regulatory and sanitary intelligence.

This combination makes it possible to understand the business in two inseparable dimensions.

On one side, the institutional, political and commercial dimension.

On the other, the technical, sanitary, regulatory and operational dimension.

It is in this convergence that BEST operates.

The company connects the commercial objectives of agribusiness to the regulatory requirements and institutional decisions that shape international markets.

Its work covers topics such as animal health, food safety, responsible use of antimicrobials, animal welfare, traceability, data, sustainability and EUDR.

BEST's proposal is neither to offer generic consulting nor to act as a conventional commercial intermediary.

It is to understand the system that underpins the business, identify risks, anticipate change, structure evidence and guide decisions with technical and institutional legitimacy.

Oshiai was the beginning of the entrepreneurial journey built by Jogi.

Maria Eduarda's arrival in 2026 marks the creation of a new platform.

BEST AgriTrade is the next chapter.
